Reticulata Camellias

Camellia Reticulata Nursery - Jaspers Brush, NSW

Camellia Reticulata Betty Ridley VariegatedThe reticulata camellias originated in Yunnan, in southern China where the climate is very similar to temperate and highland Australia.

These spectacular shrubs produce large to very large blooms almost always in late winter.

The evergreen bushes are open and upright with large leathery, matt green leaves varying to shiny dark green.

We graft all of our camellias ensuring adaptable and hardy camellia plants. We also have Camellia Japonica and Camellia Higo varieties available.

Camellia Reticulata Sir Eric Pearce

Most forms of Camellia Reticulata are robust growers that prefer full sun to light shade in slightly acidic soils.

Flowers can grow to 20-25cm across on some specimens (as big as your dinner plate!) and the blooms vary in colour from pure white through all the pink shades, scarlet reds and very deep red as well as many with variegation.

While grafted plants cost more to produce, they grow away as very healthy, vigorous and reliable specimens more adaptable to a greater variety of garden conditions. Any shoots below the graft should always be removed.
