FAQs

How tall are the plants?

Plants have different growth rates and vary in age, so there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Broadly, our plants are grown to between 1 and 3 years of age before being sold. The typical height of the plants we sell via the web are:

Wisteria: 80cm long main leader from a ground level graft

Camellias: 60cm to 90cm tall from a low level graft
Dissectum Japanese Maples: usually grafted at ~ 70cm and the plants are generally weepers
Upright Japanese Maples: 60cm to 90cm tall from a low level graft
Others: usually 60cm to 1m in height. Dwarf varieties of anything, will be dwarf.

How old is my plant?

Our plants are grown to between 2 and 4 years of age before being sold. On average the grafted heads are between 2 and 3 years old.

How do I pay?

We strongly recommend the use of Paypal for your own security and for its ease of use. Paypal is a subsidiary of the large, US listed company Ebay and is a widely accepted, highly secure electronic payment system. You do not disclose any financial information to us. PayPal is effectively an electronic wallet. So once you are a Paypal member you can pay with direct debit or various credit cards.

Just Google “Paypal” to learn more.  You can also pay via a direct debit to our account or a cheque/ money order.

Do you accept credit card for payment?

Not directly as it is too expensive to maintain a merchant account and would only drive up the prices of our products. Indirectly, yes – you can pay with your credit card via PayPal.

When will the plants be delivered?

Depending on your location, we ship via courier or via Australia Post. We will advise expected delivery times when we confirm orders. You can also use the Australia Post website to calculate expected delivery time by entering your postcode and ours, which is 2535, and a dummy parcel setting.

How can I get a discount?

You just did! ...If you ordered though us. Our prices are the best in the industry and we include postage and handling so it is so simple for you to shop without hidden extra costs. Even with the inclusion of delivery of your purchase right to your door, we still expect our prices to be significantly less than retail nurseries. Online sites typically charge you significant postage costs on top of the prices you see for the product. If you want to haggle, spend a day at the markets.

I notice a plant I like but it is out of stock. When might you have new stock available?

Everything we sell is grown by us, so it really does depend on which varieties get chosen each year and then how the grafts take as to what will be released. Grafting typically occurs in winter for most varieties we sell, and so new plants are grown out to a saleable size from then. As a guide, new season stocks become available end February/early March.

How can I pre-order a plant which is out of stock?

We prefer not to take pre-orders with payment. However, you can send an email requesting to be notified when new stocks become available. As a general guide, we do very little selling during peak summer months and refresh stock lists online ready for Autumn. We also review and update our stock listings, especially in Autumn and Spring, when sales are busiest. Occasionally we find plants which appeared to be sold out and these will be added back to the website.

Can you ring me?

There is a bloke here called Matt. He is the Distribution department, the Sales department, the Marketing department, Chief Grafter, Chief Potter, Delivery Driver… ok you’ve got the gist of it. He sits up at night and wee early hours reading emails and handling correspondence. He loves his customers and is the most honest, genuine guy you’ll ever meet, but he does get a tad busy. Oh yeah – and he’s a Dad! So, email your queries preferably, ask your best friend which one they think looks best, or ring and leave a clear message (say it S-L-O-W-L-Y) with your number. Then be patient.

Can I visit your nursery?

Yes, you can. But bear in mind it is a wholesale nursery, so dont expect tags, prices, or a coffee shop! To visit you must make an appointment. This is best done by sending an email with your preferred date(s) and times. We are near Berry on the NSW South Coast. Dogs need to stay in vehicles.
